Education
Graduate in Commerce, Finance, Hospital Administration, or related field. Certification in Hospital Billing/Healthcare Management is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate accurate IPD, OPD, Emergency, and Diagnostic bills
- Verify patient demographics, services utilized, and charge entries before bill generation
- Ensure timely billing and settlement of patient accounts
- Process advance deposits, interim bills, final bills, refunds, and adjustments as per policy
- Coordinate with clinical and support departments for accurate charge capture
- Collect payments through cash, card, UPI, online transfers, and other approved payment modes
- Issue receipts and maintain proper transaction records
- Reconcile daily collections and submit reports to the Finance Department
- Handle billing-related queries and provide clarification to patients and attendants
Experience
1 – 10 years of experience in hospital billing. Rotational shifts.
Insurance & Documentation:
- Prepare and submit billing documents for insurance and TPA patients
- Coordinate with TPA coordinators for approvals and claim settlements
- Verify authorization letters and insurance eligibility
- Ensure all required documents are attached before claim submission
- Maintain accurate billing records and supporting documents
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly billing reports
- Assist in audits by providing billing-related records and reports
- Ensure proper filing and record retention as per hospital policy
- Follow hospital billing policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and financial information
- Ensure accuracy and minimize billing errors and revenue leakage

Dispensing & Patient Care:
- Review prescriptions for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness
- Dispense medications as prescribed by authorized medical practitioners
- Verify dosage, drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications before dispensing
- Ensure proper labeling and packaging of medications
- Counsel patients regarding medication usage, dosage, side effects, and storage requirements

Experience

- Maintain adequate stock levels of medicines and consumables
- Monitor expiry dates and ensure FEFO (First Expiry First Out) practices
- Conduct regular stock verification and inventory audits
- Coordinate procurement and replenishment of pharmacy stock

- Maintain pharmacy records as per statutory and regulatory requirements
- Ensure compliance with Pharmacy Act, Drugs and Cosmetics Act, NABH standards, and hospital policies

- Prepare and manage nursing duty rosters and shift allocations
- Supervise ICU nursing staff and provide guidance and support

- Identify training needs and coordinate ongoing clinical education programs
- Ensure adequate staffing levels for all shifts
- Monitor availability and functionality of ICU equipment, including ventilators, monitors, infusion pumps, and defibrillators

- Coordinate preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment
- Address patient and family concerns professionally and empathetically
